Every year, WLN Ambassadors get the opportunity to attend vibrant networking events that combine inspirational stories and interesting topics and speakers with the chance to meet and socialize with women professionals from all walks of life, such as:
- Women’s Journey in the Culinary World panel discussion (2024) with Kajsa Alger (Regional Executive Chef at Porto’s Bakery & Cafe), Jenn Rush (Owner of Blue Plate Taco and Blue Plate Oysterette), Akasha Richmond (Chef/Owner of AKASHA), Daisy Garcia (culinary graduate of LA Trade-Technical College). The panel was moderated by Brad Metzger, founder of hospitality recruitment firm Restaurant Solutions
- New York Times best-selling author, Lisa See, signing books at a JVS SoCal Women’s Leadership Network event (2023) where she read from her latest work, discussed her journey as an author, held a Q&A session, met with attendees, and signed copies of her book, Lady Tan’s Circle of Women
- Our annual Woman to Woman Conference happens each fall and features accomplished speakers and motivational stories of women tearing down barriers to success, while raising awareness and critical funding to sustain JVS SoCal’s programs serving women.

Programs Supported by the WLN
The JVS SoCal Women’s Leadership Network provides support for new and existing career training and mentoring programs to assist women in need, from under-served communities, and who are looking to begin a career.
Programs include our JVSWorks training programs, women’s professional development programs like WoMentoring and Creating Career Connections, our JVS SoCal Scholarship program, and a suite of Veteran services for women who have served honorably in our military.
