Video game designer finds support in L.A. women focused career program

Meradi Agran is a videogame designer, a role generally associated with men. Thanks to JVS SoCal and the Women’s Leadership Network she has been able to hone her craft and have the tools to advance in her career.

Through the WoMentoring program, Meradi partnered with JC Lau, a senior video game producer who helps her deal with the challenges she faces as a woman in her field. Thanks to an Impact Grant, Meradi was able to create a working space that improved her productivity and mitigate the challenges of living with endometriosis.

Meradi was recognized with an Impact Award at the 12th Annual Woman to Woman Conference. In her acceptance speech she said:

“Thank you for listening to my story. I hope it helps you realize what an incredible organization JVS SoCal is, and how the Women’s Leadership Network can change lives. My struggles felt heard, my challenges eased, and I have a mentor and friend for life in JC Lau. I owe so much to JVS SoCal for supporting my health needs when I struggled to advocate for myself in professional spaces, and to Diane Shapiro for connecting me with JC. I feel so much more prepared for my career than I did this time last year, and I’m immensely grateful.”
