Recipients of this year’s Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) scholarships celebrated the program’s 45th anniversary at Sinai Temple on July 27. Some 220 Jewish students from ages 17-70 were awarded $694,00 in need-based scholarships ranging from $750 to $10,000 to attend colleges, universities and vocational schools across the country. Since its founding in 1972, JVS has awarded more than 4,400 scholarships totaling over $7.8 million. The event was hosted by Scholarship Committee Co-Chairs Leland Felsenthal and Matthew Paul.
