November 25, 2024, Los Angeles—As families gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, JVS SoCal is proud and grateful for its graduating class of 2024 from ImagingWorks, a paid medical imaging training program. Twenty-eight graduates have achieved this milestone and are now prepared to step into new roles within the community and positively impact people’s lives.
“ImagingWorks most definitely changed my life,” shared graduate Stephanie Donerson. Now I know where I want to go in my future in healthcare. “
Jeff Carr, CEO of JVS SoCal, spoke about the impact these graduates will have on the lives of people in Southern California. “It’s fitting that we celebrate this during Thanksgiving week, a time to express our gratitude. I am confident that the men and women graduating today will touch lives with their newly acquired skills and make a difference in our communities,” he said. “Being part of their professional development is a privilege that JVS SoCal takes seriously. We are proud of them.”
The graduating class includes Soros Chok, Elizabeth Banda Perez, Christian Vargas, Sokpheap Pov, Ebonese Walker, Ashley Flores, Irene Gomez, Anadelia Santiago, Stephanie Donerson, Yajaira Ayala, Pierre Jackson, Aarion Young, Nelson Gomez, Vanessa Pacheco, and MacKenzie Watson, among others.
ImagingWorks, offered by JVS SoCal in conjunction with clinical partner RadNet, prepares individuals for high-demand positions as DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) technicians, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) tech aides, and patient service representatives. The program lasts 11 weeks, and trainees earn $21.00 per hour during this time.
ImagingWorks also announced the expansion of its 11-week clinical training program in diagnostic medical imaging to five new locations in Southern California: Glendale, Northridge, San Jacinto, Ventura, and Victorville.
As the demand for skilled diagnostic imaging technicians continues to rise, JVS SoCal is dedicated to bridging the gap between the workforce and meeting industry needs. The graduating class of 28 reflects the diverse population of Los Angeles.
