Los Angeles – JVS SoCal is proud to receive a grant of $100,000 from First Citizens Bank to support our BankWork$ program. JVS SoCal’s industry-specific career-training programs help participants overcome barriers to employment and get on the path toward thriving careers.

“We are proud to support job seekers for positions in banking as a first step of the career ladder in the dynamic financial services industry,” says Senior Vice President, and Pacific Area manager, Rans Tenorio. The donation is part of a 5-year community reinvestment plan established in 2021 as part of First Citizens Bank’s proactive efforts to give back to historically underserved communities. “Our focus is on improving the lives of individuals and families by investing in three focus areas including workforce development.”

“JVS SoCal is grateful for our 10-year, impactful partnership with one of the country’s largest regional banks,” says Randy Lapin, Senior Vice President of Philanthropy. “First Citizens Bank has not only been a generous funding partner of our BankWork$ program – and several others – they have also been wonderful volunteers and have hired countless numbers of our BankWork$ graduates for their workforce. This recent donation solidifies their commitment to the communities we serve because it ensures the longevity of our award-winning programs.”

JVS SoCal BankWork$ is one of JVS SoCal’s four training programs that prepare participants in the financial, healthcare, and apartment maintenance industries. The courses are offered at no cost to participants thanks to the generous support of partners like First Citizens Bank.
